Rollover Ira Scottrade

Question: I want to rollover several old 401k accounts into 1 IRA (e.g., vanguard, fidelity, scottrade), which is best?

I have several old 401k accounts from my previous employers with vanguard and fidelity. My money in these accounts is mostly invested in mutual funds from Vanguard, T.Rowe Price. I want to consolidate my 401k accounts into one rollover account but not sure which IRA vendor will be best? I am debating among: Vanguard, Fidelity, Scottrade, Sharebuilder. I generally only invest in mutual funds. Please advise on how I should make decision b/w these accounts and what are the trade-offs?

Answer: Costs are the most important predictor in a funds future performance. No one can predict the future performance of a fund, but you will always know the cost of a fund, taking this into consideration, I would mostly recommend Vanguard, in general they have the lowest cost mutual funds (Fidelity has a few very low cost mutual funds as well).
